Nearest decent nursery is "The Duchy Nursery" at Lostwithial but there is a guy near you called Ken Olson who sell plants at his garden called St Martins up near the church and new village hall well worth a visit especially at this time of year. -- Charlie, gardening in Cornwall. http://www.roselandhouse.co.uk Holders of National Plant Collection of Clematis viticella (cvs) |

Ken is selling St Martin's Manor, though I don't think it's gone yet. But he doesn't allow 'drop in' visits and AFAIK wasn't planning any garden open days at all this year. Ray has known him for many years and a lot of our cannas came from him and a lot of things in his garden came from here. It's the best private garden I know, so if he does open it, it's well worth a visit. -- Sacha www.hillhousenursery.co.uk South Devon (remove the weeds to email me) |

I know Ken was nursing as well as gardening when we went, but then he started opening more often, so its sad that it may be closed, like you I was completly bowled over by the garden, completely different to anything else I had seen at that point. Thanks for pointing it out though, as news had not filtered this far west! -- Charlie, gardening in Cornwall. http://www.roselandhouse.co.uk Holders of National Plant Collection of Clematis viticella (cvs) |
