Any recommendations for nurseries in the Looe area of Cornwall ??

Ken is selling St Martin's Manor, though I don't think it's gone yet. But
he doesn't allow 'drop in' visits and AFAIK wasn't planning any garden open
days at all this year. Ray has known him for many years and a lot of our
cannas came from him and a lot of things in his garden came from here. It's
the best private garden I know, so if he does open it, it's well worth a
visit.

Does that mean his freind has died Sacha? I know Ken was nursing as well as
gardening when we went, but then he started opening more often, so its sad
that it may be closed, like you I was completly bowled over by the garden,
completely different to anything else I had seen at that point.

Yes, Harry died getting on for two years ago. He and Ken bought the house
about 14 years ago when Harry was widowed - Ken had been divorced many years
ago - and they decided to join forces. The house has been advertised in
Country Life and it might have been in the Western Morning News but I'm not
sure. It's absolutely wonderful because not only is Ken a fantastic cook,
his second career was in antiques and interior design (his first was as a
surgeon) and his taste is impeccable. Ken works in that garden from first
light to pitch dark, pausing only to do all his own house work and cook
delicious food. He's a true Renaissance man, I think! I only hope that
whoever buys the house allows people to visit the garden sometimes.
