Lawson Cypress

Hi
I wondered if this conifer is suitable for a hedge I have a front lawn about
17ft long and would like some sort of hedge along the edge of it.
My local garden centre is selling these off at 3 for £10.
Does any green fingered person out there know how high, tall and wide this
conifer grows to and if it would be suitable. Also would I need to do
anything to the soil when planting. Is this the right time of year to plant
??Any tips greatly received. Thanks in Advance.

There is a lot of prejudice against it but, fact is, you are in
charge.
It will grow as high, tall and wide as you want it to.
If you can control the height of your grass, then you can control your
hedge.

You said Lawson Cypress. Well this is it.

Make sure that you have the correct description of your intended
purchase. Have a good read of the label and a chat with the seller
before you decide.

DONT is the best advice anyone can give
Lawsons are not really suitable for a hedge you cant trim them easily as its
all too easy to cut back into bare wood and they dont take kindly to topping

Unless your lawn is otherwise large you will soon find the grass dying

Plant Pyracantha or Escallonia or Photinia Red Robin or Eleagnus
(variegated ) or a mix of them all for an interesting hedge full of colour
and food for the birds
