Rice-on mower - loading ramps sought!
 

Not off-topic, but definitely off-garden!

I've just bought a trailer to transport my ride-on mower for repair.

Now I need a pair of arched loading ramps. There are lots in USA for a
little over 100 dollars; the only ones I can find in UK (Northern Equipment
Co) are 130-ish pounds.

They're rarely seen on eBay.

So where are all those sub-100 pounds pairs of ramps?

Can anyone help me get a load off my mind and onto the trailer? (Worth
reading the post for that clever closing, eh?)

Ahh soo, Chinese mower...

a couple of 10ft.lengths of 2 x 8 timber are cheap enuff....just drive the
mower up 'em'.....

Drive up 'em until you get to the top; at which point front wheels on the
flat, back wheels down the ramp, cutting deck jammed where the timber ends
(hence the curved requirement to get the back wheels raised up a bit).

Like everybody else, just push the b ****r! Or two of you grab hold
of the downhill ends of the timbers, and heave up. Or get a bit of
scrap sheet metal and nail it onto the ends of the timbers so there
isn't a step at the uphill end.

...... or how about jacking the front of the trailer up so that there
is no step.
Then lower the trailer once you have the rice onboard.

I know. Dig an open ended pit and back the trailer in.
Ride the rice straight on and drag the trailer out the pit.
QE .... something or other.

There are some arched ramps on ebay now for 85 quid or so.

Otherwise, make some yourself?
