Hello, Firstly can I tell you I am a complet novice garderner so please be patient!!
I have just puchased a lake and need to plants lots of shrubs around it that will basically give lots of cover and colour akll year around, Thte lake is going to be used for angling so I want to plant them in to divide up the areas people fish so they have thier own little space with shrubs between them

what will the best shrubs be for me to plats that will grow as quickly as possible?

Hi phil, this is only a start in the choices you could have.Without
being too technical....the ground soil needs to be tested to see what
kind of plants will survive there.
What kind of planting is already there to provide the shelter for the
young plants? and more questions like this.
may I suggest the favorites which may suit the conditions.

Cornus, Symphoricarpus,shrub willow- Salix daphinoides, Viburnum opulus
and a few others.
4 years ago we built a lake and planted the margins to make cover for
the many wild birds in the cotswolds so the planting choice could be
different
I am sure there will be plenty of other choices mentioned. If you need
