Another daft question!

About a couple of years ago, I went on a coach trip to Morton-on-the-Marsh,
to a market which I think was on a Monday.

Does anyone know whether it is held on a Monday, and is it every Monday?

It is indeed "Morton-in-the-Marsh" rather than on-the-Marsh, as you
imply. But the actual area is part of the Welsh "Marches" from the
A.Saxon "mearc" meaning boundary. Nothing wet or squidgy involved,

you should be o.k.

It was probably during the war, when Tuesday was bombed.

But when somebody upthread felt a song coming on, I heard Flanders
and Swann: "The slow train." Stand clear, folks: I think I've got a
what my kids call an "Oh, God! Dad's going to cry!" in the offing.
And, yes, I _do_ remember Adlestrop..."all the birds of
Oxfordshire..." (Edward Thomas, was it?)

I treasure a full BR timetable for 1958: poetry in its purest form.
With milage in the margin.

I've just delivered an old (steam period) signalling textbook and a book
of African steam locos to a fiend and fellow Zetnut. I wouldn't mind
betting he would have such a timetable - or appreciate a copy...
