Is there an easy way to killfile a block of messages in one go OE6, if

you
see what I mean?

Only by marking the first one, scrolling down to the last one, press caps
key and mark the last one, which should select all of them, then ALT E/K.

That will get rid of them all, the only problem is that one of the usual
subscribers may have posted a messag halfway through, in which case that

one
gets deleted as well!

Alan

Regardless of that. Not responding to crossposted threads without
first trimming them, would be a help. When someone is maybe
inadvertantly crossposting into alt.troll, never mind crossposting
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
to other maybe innocuous looking NewsGroups, where in fact the trolls
may have already got the upper hand - it's fairly obvious what the
possible consequences may be. You're just making their life easier
as it enables trolls to identify those NewsGroups which are currently
under attack.

But, as it is impossible to know which newsgroup the request was posted
from, so that the poster gets the required information, it is neccessary to
post to all the newsgroups, a pity, but thats the way it is.

So you think there's a possibility that someone is actually
posting from alt.troll, asking for help ?

Or from u.k.local yorkshire which everyone is being warned
about ?

That's an interesting point, I had not read all the newsgroups in the
header.

Or from u.k.local yorkshire which everyone is being warned
about ?

I wonder then whether I could set up my machine to stop posts from either of
those newsgroups.

I must look into that.

I think someone covered your query recently.
Subscribe to uk.something and then create a rule to delete posts.
So If you want to avoid posts from alt.porn etc you need to subscribe to
it:-)
