Default Self Fertile Kiwi Fruit - How to Grow?

A couple of weeks ago I received a pre-ordered Kiwi plant from Suttons.
It is now planted against a 6 foot south facing fence along which I have
stretched horizontal wires through vine eyes to support it.
Not having any previous experience with this type of vine, what can I expect
in the first year and subsequent years.
Any do's & don'ts.
By the way, live in Surrey South East England..
