Did anyone manage daffs in bloom for St David's Day?

I usually have some at least in bud that can be brought on inside in a
jamjar - but this year it's far too cold, not a single flower stem is
showing.

Snow *again* this morning...

Plenty in bud here in West Yorkshire. It's only a few weeks before I start
to think how sick I am of yellow :-)

2 buds here in west midlands but snow as wel this morning only about 1 inch
though,
according to my records this cold snap is about 1 week later than last year,
must check previous years as well, recall one year going to London third
week in February by rail from the midlands left at 06-25 am got into London
about 14-30 ( normal journey time was 2 hours) and Temperature was
showing -12 centigrade/celsius at one factory on the route , points were
frozen, brakes on train froze on had 1 hour wait at B-ham International
while brakes were unfrozen.Missed my meeting but only 2 turned up, he stayed
in London overnight
Whilst we have had some bad cold spells not as cold as in the past.
I su[pose that this could be either global warming or normal cyclic weather
pattern.
I was watching a TV programme this week which took us back to mediaeval
times and suggested that dartmoor was habital in those times and several
degrees warmer than now, which throws doubt on following, and attributing
weather patterns to global warming alone.

No. The recent cold snap has stopped them from opening.

Two weeks ago it looked like a couple were ready to open outdoors - a
couple more warm sunny days would have been enough. They are stuck with
yellow showing and heads bent but not with open flowers.

We only had a few flakes. Sunny today but very cold in N Yorks.

Yes got loads open in pots outdoors, variety Rijnveldt's Early Sensation.

One is flowering under the shelter of the big old cedar tree and another is
in bud. But these are the daffs that have the disease whose name I always
forget. It makes the foliage start dying back too quickly to feed the bulb
for next year. Ray has been spraying it with some stuff or other and there
are just a very few more buds this year. It's heart-breaking, really
because it should be a wonderful golden sea of flowers. The snowdrops are
still going strong, having been late this year and the cyclamens are just
poking through.

I have some of those, and February Gold too, but they aren't living up to
their names this year!

On the plus side: the snowdrops still look great.

Where are you then, you can't be far from Plymouth. Are you in the forgotten
corner. That's one of my favourite places

I have another really early variety, 'Cedric Morris', which has been in
flower for a few weeks already, out of doors. It's rockery-type in size.
I've had it about three years and it just steadily increases. From one
bulb I now have a nice little clump - a real delight.

I'm in the Tamar valley, on the north side of Hingston Down. Possibly
looking out towards Dartmoor doesn't make my daffs any earlier!

yes - I think that they were called "Early Dawn" - they are yellow and on
the small side of full size :)
