Tomato repotting soil

I am about to repot 3 tumbler tom seedlings into 3" pots (they have a
goot set of 'proper' leaves now). What soil should I use ?? I have some
general B&Q cutting and seedlings compost - will the be suitable ?? Or
should I go for JI No.2 for example ?

JI is the luxury end of the market! I've always just bought the cheapest
growbags I could find and used the stuff in those. Your seedlings
compost is exactly right at this stage, though.

Thanks for the reply...
As a beginner, I guess its natural to go for a name I recognise. I'll
stick to the compost I have for the next pots.
Should I look out for any particulat type of soil when I plant on to
their final locations ? (hanging baskets)

Same grow bag stuff that you are using now to pot on, but you must feed
at some point when the toms are showing and water well if you use a
basket :o)

And add some water retaining gel to the baskets too.

I grew these last year in grow bags and wished I hadn't! They produce a massive amount of small fruits but are best suited to a growing position where they hang down. The massive amount of side shoot growth and fruiting points led to an uncontrollable mess in the growbags and I suffered botrytus problems. This year I have planted just 2 plants in 4ltr pots and will be placing them on a shelf about 4 ft ablove the ground in my greenhouse. Grow them like commercial strawberries and you'll have a bumper crop!
