propagate Cornus controversa?
I have a young C. controversa 'Variegata' (wedding cake tree) that
has thrown up a sport off of the lower trunk which is entirely white. I've put up a couple of pics of two leaf clusters (from the same plant) http://www.adelka.com/misc/whitevariegata.jpg http://www.adelka.com/misc/variegata.jpg Has anyone seen a pure white Cornus? I know all white leaves are difficult because of the lack of chlorophyll, but I can think of at least a maple with such leaves. All I know about propagating C. controversa is that it's supposed to be difficult. Is there reason to think that I (or a qualified nurseryman) might be able to make a viable cultivar out of it? I've heard of a cultivar called "candle light" (which sounds as if it might be white) but can't find a picture of it anywhere... thanks, -E -- Emery Davis You can reply to ecom by removing the well known companies |
