animal repellers - any good.

I am having a major problem this year with rabbits, (more than normal), they
are even clearing some of the plants listed by the RHS as resistant to
rabbits. Has anyone any experience of using an Ultrasonic Animal
Repeller.(preferably battery operated). Garden is about 1 acre so securing
boundary is not a pracical proposition and mains operated would be
difficult.. Was thinking of covering 2 - 3 beds about 40' x 10', so that I
can at least provide some summer colour.

Any opininoins or other suggestions gratefully received

Alec

Get an electric fence string from the local agricultural supplier. Some pegs
of wood around 18" long. A deck chair. A small cattle/horse electric fence
machine and a good battery.

Insert pegs about 1/3rd of their length every 5 metres around the boundary
of your plot.
String up the string about half way up the pegs
Connect to shocker.

Sit in deck chair around 50m away and watch...
