Neglected planter

I have been asked to re plant a planter, On west facing wall. 3ft long, 18"
wide and 15" deep.
It had Ivy as its climbing plant to grow up trellis, but it is often
neglected, and doesn't get watered regularly.
They want something to grow up trellis and other plants for show for as
much of the year as possible.
So am looking for "Bomb proof plants".....any ideas?

Neglected planter

A lot of climbers are woodland plants. They like consistant levels of
humidity in the soil. Try those you might find elsewhere. I found
Honeysuckle flourishing on the clifftops of Cornwall, some clematis are
hardy in low humidity conditions. This chap is the bees knees:

Best of luck, oh and you can add those water retension granules by
Phostrogen as well.
