Not stirring at all, just stating the fact.

Can you not see that the newsgroup has improved? No aggression? Sensible
questions and lots of answers by those interested in gardening, not 'point
scoring' and 'kissy kissy messages' which could, and should, have gone to
email?

Then you are blinkered. Don't come in here causing trouble again. Let the
gardeners ask questions on gardening and let those who have the answers
answer.

calmer and more friendly place since it was vacated by the
self-serving and self-elected 'leaders'. They have no monopoly on
expertise in the subjects you mention and the slight hiatus you
deplore will be transient. The atmosphere will now surely be more
attractive to other, more congenial contributors, unencumbered by the
burden of elitism combined with the heavy load of shoulder-chips and
domination fixation.

The newsgroup doesn't seem to be lacking advice :-)))

However it would seem to still be attracting trouble makers. Go and join a

Quiet it might be, but it's questionable it will ever be as useful a
resource without the expertise and knowledge of Sacha, Judith, David and
Janet.

In all my correspondence with them over 5 years, I never experienced
anything but courtesy, helpfulness and friendship.

The newsgroup is not 'better', having had to be depleted due to the
actions of the few who seemed to take a joy in personal defamation and
an aggressive stance against anyone who questioned their gardening
advice.

There are those of us who have been quiet throughout the past few months
over events leading up to this (rightly or wrongly!) but that doesn't
mean to say that we see the departure of keen gardeners as anything but
regrettable.

May I take it by your use of the word 'coven' that you are assuming that
the participants were women and that men would never defend themselves
against personal attack?

As one of the people accused (wrongly) by Sacha, and having been abused
by her several times during the past ten or so years, I am relieved that
she has gone, (or that she says she has gone). She accused me of
something I was not guilty of and I cannot forgive her for that. Were
she to apologise, I would gladly do so but that is highly unlikely.

As an 'owner' and as someone 'who taught Adam', it seemed she was entitled
to say what she liked about who she liked and didn't expect any challenge. I
am still waiting for her to explain why she called me a liar. Not that I
will get one now as I will not be granted entry into the inner sanctum of
uk.rec.gardening.moderated.

According to Wikipedia the whole of URG is a coven :~))))

Coven or covan was originally a late medieval Scots word (c1500) meaning a
gathering of any kind, according to the Oxford English Dictionary. It
derives from the Latin root word convenire meaning to come together or to
gather, which also gave rise to the English word convene.
