FAO Sacha -hostas again :))
Hi again
Now that spring has arrived I'm looking to split / move a large hosta and I can't find your email regarding the best way to do this..it will be going to a a dampish corner of my front garden which does not receive an awful lot of light. I think that I need to do it soon before the new shoots arrive ? LW |

I think that I need to do it soon before the new shoots arrive ? Dig it up, look for 'natural' divisions in its roots and split it into bits using your hands or a sharp spade or a knife, if need be. And yes, late winter is a good time to do it, if your local weather lets you out of the door! -- Sachahttp://www.hillhousenursery.co.uk South Devonhttp://www.discoverdartmoor.co.uk/ (remove weeds from address) Oh - no snow here yet - I'll split it tomorrow - many thanks :)) LW |
