Default Late aconites?

My first aconites (Eranthis hyemalis) were pushing through in the second
week of January as usual. However as in previous years, some are still
emerging now!

The only reason I can give is that there is mole activity in this part of
the garden and some are getting transplanted quite deeply.

Any other suggestions?
