Default Is it ok to put an ACER in the same container as jasmine?

Hi,

I have a large square pot and would like to know if it would be ok to
put a "small japanese acer" (the label says it will grow to 4ft in 10
years, in with a winter jasmine (the lavel says it will grow to 10 ft
in 10 years?
