Clouds of midge type beasties in my garden help how do i get rid of?
i have a pond they hover over but beasties were there before we built
the pond Thanks

They hover in areas of still air. I doubt whether it is practical to get
rid of them.

Do you mean gnats / mossies or corn midges? If you have any fish in your
pond, they will help polish off any larvae of mossies and stop it becoming a
breeding ground for those at least. Don't think it would help with (corn)
midges though (if I'm talking about the same thing)?

It has been mild and we seeing an early hatch of aquatic insects, including
gnats.
these provide food for other life such as bats, and fish which eat the
larva.
As to killing them, not feasible as any spray would affect the
fish/newts/frogs/tadpoles etc etc.
Let nature take its course.

They're there for a reason. Leave well alone and let nature take its
course!
