Gregoire and Orchids

Greg gave me details of his friends' orchid place. Greg, I went, they
were closed!! We hired a car for the day but we didn't check
beforehand if they opened every day, they didn't!! Anyway we walked
down the long drive to the closed gates where there was a car parked
with a child's bike beside it, we could hear the family in the gardens
but I didn't have the cheek to ring on the gate and say I know your
friend Gregoire, can I come in!!! I got all the information on the
place from the hotel as they recommended it as a place to visit,
another time, hopefully.

We also went, on the same day to a distillery, it too was closed!!!
it was lunchtime and it closed from 12 midday to 3p.m. so we didn't
get to see that either.

A valuable lesson was learnt, to phone beforehand to ensure they are
open!

Too bad, the ******* has been tempting me ever since he started the
he was a regular poster to urg's French cousin and one day just said he
was leaving everything behind and moving to the tropics. He took over
the orchid farm, added a B&B section, and what's more he's succesful -
don't you hate it when that happens? :)

To mix insult and injury he's sent me some home-grown vanilla pods...
*sigh*

But... But... How are you supposed to do lunch if they're closed?!
:)

He's got a fabulous house behind great iron gates and it's down a long
drive.

Don't, we also bought some gresh vanilla pods. When I unpacked my
suitcase I had to wash my unworn clean clothes as the smell of them
was wonderful but not outside a retaurant. The spices we brought back
have perfumed the case!

Lunch? Lunch is available everywhere, I presume you mean the liquid
sort???

You have to go there Greg, there are many places in the world we have
to see but this is one that we have marked to go back to.
