Leaves browning

I'd like some advice as to what may be causing leaves to turn brown at the
tip.
One is a Virginia creeper, the other is a Clamatis Armandii. Both growing in
containers.
Pics here..............

Many thanks :)

Hi BoyPete,If you have been feeding them (especially chemical feed)then I
would suggest overfeeding.

Sounds good,do you water between feeds? If not there could be a build of
salts.

All my planting is containerised. All topped off with gravel. In this warm
weather, I water every night.

Again, sounds good. Perhaps one of the experts here will put me right
but, looking at the pics and your using miracle grow I'll stick with
overfeed.
Best I can do.

Are the containers raised so they can drain any excess water or is it
possible your plants have roots sitting in water?

One is stood on gravel, the other on block paving. With the gravel topping,
it's difficult to tell if the soil it wet/dry.

The gravel topping could be part of the problem because it prevents
evaporation, so the plants could be too wet and not drying enough between
watering. May I suggest you scrape some of the gravel aside before watering
so as to check the condition of the compost. If you don't know whether the
plant is wet or dry, you don't know what it needs.
