Spuds....Summat for nowt

Came home after along weekend away celebrating SWMBO birthday and thought
about a barbecue 'cos it was a sunny day and a nice end to the weekend.

Looking at the large plastic pot planter that had 2 old (Chitted in the
fridge by accident) Maris Piper spuds chucked in it around late March,
frequently earthed up, and watered, I dug in......

18" square pot, 2 "free" plants, and water, produced 2.2kg of the *most*
gorgeous tasting spuds for the barbecue.

Washed, halved and boiled with a dob of butter on the
top...Maaaaaaaaaaaarvelous!

Now looking forward to harvesting the remaining planted Golden Wonder ones
that are coming along nicely.

Anyone any tips for fertilising etc of spuds?

Why would you?! You are doing quite fine with the amazing harvest
you're having ! :o)

But I use comfrey juice whenever I water - I've used little in my
container spuds because like you it doesn't need it. We've had some
sort of 'container spuds' competition here - and had a long discussion
about spuds in containers. I've come across this chap's site recently
and looks like an interesting set up. Take a look.
