Ant bait question?

Just wondering....what the bait is that they use in ant traps? (I don't
think this has ever been answered in FAQs.) The ants take the bait back to
the nest and this apparently destroys the colony......Pinetree.

I put a grain of sugar on my ant trap, it is really fiddly though trying to
set the trap with tweezers and magnifying glass ;-)

And on a more serious note... Isn't it some sort of poisoned sugar?

David.

Boiling water done the nest site works pretty well too.

Sounds a lot quicker than setting a hundred ant traps!

David.

Yes, and mini cheese works well too :o)
Actually, you mix *Borax* with the cheese (oops, I mean sugar). This works.
You can also dig them up and feed them to the chickens. But I wondered what
the poison was in the shop bought traps. Maybe they just use Borax same as
everyone else....Pinetree
