BBC Countryfile 'Summer Diaries'

Just to let you know Countryfile: Summer Diaries is confirmed for
transmission on BBC1 at 10am each weekday morning from Monday August
20th 2007.

The only change is to the Bank Holiday Monday programme of August 27th
will start at the slightly earlier time of 9.45am.

It seems that the episode filmed at Hill House Nursery will be shown on 23rd
August but keep an eye on the broadcasting press! ;-)
It might well be one of those 'blink and you'll miss it' things but
Christine Walkden spent the whole morning here with the crew, so we hope it
won't be over in ten seconds.

It seems very wasteful on time doesn't it? Westcountry had a team of 3 here
for 6 hours for a 4 min slot on the evening news.

It is wasteful of people, time and energy - and veracity. We've taken part
in several tv programmes, our experience confirmed that tv programmes are
sham, none of them represents even 10% of the Truth - whatever that is.

It's always the same. What with repeating the "just walk through the trees
talking naturally" bit 6 times and so forth, it's almost surprising anything
makes it to the screen! Four minutes is quite a lot of airtime! BTW and
OT, have you got more helicopters than usual buzzing around? We've had four
around here today and not the same ones AFAICS. One was one of those big
two engine jobs.

I'm not sure how you can tell lies about a walk around someone's garden and
the plants they have in it.

We are in the corner of Culdrose's flight path so they are constant here,
you get used to them.

Culdrose is a few seconds away from us by helicopter and we get them
all the time, as well as the fishery patrol planes. But we hardly
notice them. Culdrose air day today, 1st August, so there will be
masses of traffic, on and above ground.

We get so little air traffic that when we do, it's very noticeable. And
it's nearly always military or small private aircraft. But while I thought
it might be something to do with air day, Ray thinks it was some exercises
up on Dartmoor.

Living on the South Coast of the Isle of Wight, we get the Rescue Choppers
over quite often :-(
Light planes into and out of both Sandown, half a mile away, and Bembridge 4
miles away.
A few private helicopters of people who live just south west of us and
commute to England
The Coastal Command Nimrod which patrols the Channel. (Not seen it lately)
High flying passenger jets to/from Heathrow and Gatwick
Low flying passenger jets into Southampton
Microlights
Hangliders riding the updraught from the cliffs a few yards to our east

and none of it is intrusive believe it or not.

We also have an acrobatic bi-plane but he flies high and what he does with
that plane !!!!!!!
