Surfinia Petunias not surfiniaing !!

Has anyone else found that their Surfinia Petunias have been pretty poor
this year? Mine seem to have grown bushy rather than trail. I have three
different colours - the purple have done best, but not great, the double
reds have only just decided to flower and are not at all trailing, and the
lemon coloured ones are abysmal! I am tempted to empty the baskets and get
them ready for autumn!

Same thing with a friend of mine at the other side of the village. Petunias
from 3 different sources (Parkers, Woodford and B&Q) so unlikely to be a bad
batch.

I'm in South Manchester.

Funny you say that. One of my Surfinia varieties (a sort of dark pink
one) is doing exactly that. The other ones are doing fine (in the same
windowboxes). Up in Edinburgh.

Thanks for the response Philippe. Think I'm going to blame it either a) on
the weather, or b) on the Government. Bonus cash handout if I can blame it
on the Government ;-)
