More or less the latter, I am afraid, but I couldn't get through to anyone
relevant, as I don't know anyone insider personally at present. The new
management is incredibly bureaucratic, and mere members of Cambridge
University can't even ask to be put through to anyone on the telephone;
they get so many such offers that they don't even have time to listen

It is lovely, though the current aspect (north-west) isn't ideal for
flowering. But the trick of putting it in the rain shadow is worth
other people trying - they may also need well-drained, deep soil,
of course. It isn't one that I have seen in books!
