This is the same plant I was trying to ID a week or two ago. One of our
staff thought he remembered the nursery we got it from but they've denied
all knowledge of it! David Poole hasn't managed to get over here yet and
neither Tim Longville or those he's shown it to, know what it is, either.
This pic shows it opening which might jog a memory or two.

Haven't a clue what it is, but it's a handsome flower :-)
What size is the plant, Sacha?

Here's the description I emailed to Tim:
"We have lots of babies from it but the one we've had longest has been grown
on in a greenhouse, so we can't give information as to its behaviour in the
garden.
The one I'm looking at now has mid-green leaves in which the veins are very
clear but not prominent or ribbed. One or two of the leaves on every plant
seem to bifurcate at the tips for no apparent reason - i.e. there's no
insect infestation, it just seems to occur naturally. Flower heads are
borne in multiples on each stem.
The flowers have 5 petals in groups of 3 lower ones and 2 upper ones and are
a coral colour. There is a single stamen curving upwards towards the two top
petals and the flowers shade darker with small spots on them at the base of
each petal.
The most mature we've got is 6' tall by about 4' wide, is flowering now and
has been flowering for a month. The cuttings Ray took last year have been
stopped but are 18" tall and have 7 branches. It's evergreen in the
greenhouse.
We're going to experiment with two this winter. One will be in a pot in a
sheltered corner and the other will be out in the garden."

The leaves look like a Nicotiana to me and the number of petals is right as
is the height but that's all.

Don't think so but I'll put it to 'the management' tomorrow. ;-) I just
wish Ray could remember where he got this. It's either a present, something
from another nursery or a seeds picked up on a holiday somewhere. Pretty
wide field........!

Yup. But he has a lot on his plate. Sometimes I can't remember where I got
things from and I don't have a nursery to remember.

The annoying thing is that it was carefully labelled but at some point in
the potting on, the label has been lost. He is given a *lot* of things by
kind people and it isn't always easy to remember who gave what or when.
And then there's the seeds......I emptied the pockets of one of his jackets
yesterday and out came a cloud of Leucodendron argenteum seeds he'd
forgotten he'd got! ;-) Do you grow that in Australia? It's something we
want to try here but doubt it will get through our winters - worth a try
though because it's so lovely.
