Especially Cornish who go to my beloved Madeira!

We have had a light frost, it got the Fucia boliviana and the cannas, the
Tibouchinas are still going strong as well as the Hedychium grenii (very
late this year) enen that Ipoemea learii is still flowering. Favorite
Madeiran plant to come home with us is Senna corymbosa wich is just going
over but has been sheets of colour for over 2 months now. Only 11 months
till we can go back :~)

Sorry folks I really must get to grips with the spell check on this
gravity news reader.
Above should read Fuchsia boliviana, and Hedychium greenii. Even not
Enen, which not wich, can't even blame the dyslexsia just bad typing!

It's 3c here and has been sleeting! That's quite enough winter, thank
you!

Had about 1 or 2 inches of snow last night here in West Midlands but some
rain today washed it away much to the annoyance of one of my dogs.
Little lady Misty loves the snow, the other doesn't like getting his paws
wet He reminds me of the song "walking in the air"
Last week had enough freezing nights to blacken dahlias, and take out some
Fuschias.

Very mild here, occasional glimpses of sun in between quite heavy rain
showers. Quite happy with that.

Cold, hail showers, thunder, absolutely bucketing rain on and off.

Sounds ideal, just the sort of weather where you wwant to stay indoors in
front of a fire!

Lifting dahlias till I ran out of daylight, but the rain started about
half an hour ago, hope it stays as rain.
Haven't lifted half of them yet.

Ah now, that we can do - log fire tonight topped up with some coal, as every
night. IMO, a real fire is a sort of companion, too.

Sounds like your joints are a bit better this year David!
Can I put the two smaller dahlias, Turkish sunshine and After eight
which are in v. large clay pots, into the cold greenhouse in situ or do
I have to take them out of the compost and leave them to dry?

You can put them into the greenhouse as they are, and let the compost
dry.
