Need help to identify this plant
 

In my office we have a plant that has a trunk like a yucca and leaves like a
small rhubarb. Does anyone know what it is, it does not have a label and no
one knows!

I'm no expert on house plants but you got me going all day with this -
I keep thinking of a dracaena or cordyline, because of the stem, then
for the leaves there's heuchera, rheum, even some begonias but none
have a single stem like you've mentioned. What are the colours of the
leaves and stem?

names and nothing really matches. The trunk is dark brown, nearly black and
the leaves are an even dark green.

It's hard to identify a plant from an informal textual description such
as the above - what the phrases "trunk like a yucca" and "leaves like a
small rhumbarb" mean to me may not be what they mean to you. (And it can
be pretty hard to identify plants without flowers or fruits.)

However, try Aeonium. (Tho' I expect that the leaves of Aeonium are
smaller than you intend.)

:o) Aeonium reminds me of artichokes. Begonias are the closest to the
leaves description, but are multi stems.

It might be a fiddle leaf fig http://laplantrentals.com/photo_2.html but
trained to a single stem and with the lower leaves removed. I have Googled
for images of the fiddle leaf fig and most of the others have similar stems
but this is the only one with leaves that come close.

If your news service allows binary groups you could post a pic on
alt.binaries.pictures.gardens which will usually get an ID from someone
in a warmer climate where your plant grows everywhere.

Found a single stem fiddle leaf photo - but you have a strange idea of
rhubarb leaves there W ;o)) Glad you've found, well almost, what it
is. Taking a picture of it would help as already suggested.
