Default will my wisteria survive?

The water folks discovered a leak at the shutoff valve, buried next to a
mature (15 yrs)
wisteria, and next to some stone walling (and of course the stone wall
of the house which
supports the wisteria).

Today they came with mini-backhoe early, and started digging. Managed
to not
break any stonework, but the edge of the hole came flush to the trunk of
the plant.
When I arrived on scene its broken roots were projecting into the air,
and it is
a quite wobbly in the ground. They didn't actually dig under it, but
right up to it
as it were.

Impossible to really know, but any ideas as to how well wisteria resists
such treatment?
BTW, it hasn't quite leafed out yet.

Thanks
