Fatsia japonica looking unhealthy
Gardening newb here, but trying. Planted a Fatsia japonica in what I
thought would be a good site September last year. Unfortunately one of our lovely local stags took a liking to its thin trunk and rubbed his antlers along it during rut. It appears to have survived but this spring it is looking very unhealthy. Pale yellow leaves, not much new growth. In its position it is also affected by our winterly SW winds - I wonder if it perhaps does not like that position, amongst other things. Is this plant saveable - any reason for such pale yellow leaves? Larry |

My mother outlaw grew one in a walled garden in Jersey and it was a huge and splendid thing. Even in that climate it needed some help against the winds. Perhaps yours got caught by frost? -- Sacha http://www.hillhousenursery.co.uk South Devon 'We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.' |

I have 2 one is in a pot and the other in the ground - both took a hammering with frost and were very yellow, I 've put fertislizer pellet down (Vitax q8) and they're both spouting lovely dark green leaves. Hope that helps! |
