Oak Barrel feature
 
Can anyone suggest a plant to put in a half oak barrel , preferences, ..not to big and that it will survive all year as i live a stones throw from the north east coast so if ever theres a cold north easterly blowing the plant will get the brunt of it............THANKS

Anything will have to have winter protection for the first two years until established - a cage with green netting seems to work for me.


How about a phormium? Minimum care, lots of different colours to choose from, and eventually a stunning flower spike.

I have 2 in front garden in large pots , look very striking and have grown
well , and only put them in this year
