theres a million good things about autumn, the weeds on the allotment slow
down, autumn colour in the trees, bird migration through the garden,
temperatures that are comfortable, clear air, its yer season of mists and
mellow fruitfulness, innit?

I like early autumn, I must say. And today is just gorgeous. It's very
bright and sunny and the air is still, barely a breeze. The little birdies
are singing their hearts out!

My goodness! Are those odd lemons, or somethign entirely different?

The best thing about autumn, right now, is that the forecast is good
for the next *several* days (luxury!!) and the sun, you know, that
golden ball that used to shine some months back, is actually *shining*
(decadence!!) today.
Here's to a tiny weeny bit of slightly chilly indian summer.

Odd lemons. ;-)) It's Citrus medica Buddha's Hand and I snapped it because
it's just coloured up and because it shows how small the plant can be when
it starts bearing fruit.

when things go to the plan, its good now till november IMHO, (when I plant
some broad beans). Then its walking in the hills time until spring and I
start planting next years veg later than I intended. :-(

I've given up on broad beans - I have a box full of fodder beans gleaned
after the harvest, and I just plant thickly a patch of these. They are
smaller than broad beans, but otherwise the same, and crop much more
heavily.

Hills, though, are in fairly short supply round here.

If you don't believe me, see
