Default do cacti lean into the sun or away from it?

I'm sure I've got some that lean away from the sun... but others appear
to lean into it.

Is there an answer to this?

To be honest, it's a bit of a problem with my large cacti as I need them
to grow straight up - there's very little room here.

Cheers for any help,

Tom.

Turn them daily? If they're in pots, that is.

Hi, I'm trying this but I leave them for a very long time, and also
there's some leaning I'd like to reverse.

Is there a definitive way they lean? Towards or away?

Cheers,

Tom.

No idea, mine don't. Observe, keep a record with each one :-)

Just to be awkward, the only cactus I have is on a window ledge and it
leans sideways. It leaned towards the sun when it was smaller and I
can remember it touching the glass.

Here's a thought...

Some cacti swell up when it rains, so perhaps, if they only found
water on one side, they'd swell up on that side and lean away.
Are you watering them unevenly?
