Pets and mushrooms

Hi,

Today I found a mushroom in my dog's bed. I immediately took it away
but now I am worried... I often have some weird mushrooms growing in
my lawn or in the back bit of my property. Is there anything I can do
to prevent mushrooms from appearing? I know that the most likely
answer is no... but it is worth a try.

Thanks a million.

You're right, the answer is no - unless you concrete over the whole
garden. Mushrooms will even push through well-laid asphalte.

Very few mushrooms are deadly, so don't worry too much. Many are delicious...

If your discerning dog repeats the 'retrieve', take some pics of the
mushrooms, especially if you can find them growing, and post them to a
website if you have access to one, then ask about them in
alt.nature.mushrooms. If you don't have access to webspace, someone will
be along in a minute to give you the URL of somewhere where you can
'share' the pics.
