I watched French TV news this evening, second big gale of the year coming up. I thought it was the third. There's flooding along the Garonne. -- Martin We are off to Provence tomorrow to look at a dog, the sun may be shining there, hopefully. To keep on topic, I bought some seeds today at Lidl, only 23 cents a packet for run of the garden sweet peas and 59 cents for hybrid petunia, cheap or what and I shook the packets to ensure there were seeds in them. Did you try floating them on the surface of a bucket of water to see if they are likely to germinate? Thought not :o) -- Martin LOL. I hope to find a good restaurant or two. Judith |

I love lying in bed listening to rain driving down and the wind, but the gales can unsettle me as I worry abut trees coming down. Today it has blown itself out but the sky is full of snow! Judith |

We had torrential rain F7 NNE 1.8C and the webcam makes me feel seasick http://www.noordwijk.info/noordwijk/...ms/livecam.asp Well, today is sunny with wind and a bright blue sky - for the moment! Clouds are piling up from the horizon, so goodness knows what's coming our way. I'm wondering if Val is doing okay given that there were severe weather warnings in her area and of course, everyone else who has been battered by storms, gales, rain and snow. -- Sacha http://www.hillhousenursery.com South Devon Perennials & shrubs online |

Must put my hand up: we must be the cause of all this! After much deliberation we decided we had to have a new roof: the roofers arrived three weeks ago, and with them the first torrential rain (three weeks' worth in an hour). Once they got all the tiles off it began to snow. Lots of snow. Then wind. Then rain, and more rain, and gales shaking the scaffolding, and a depressing forecast.... But all credit to the roofers, we've been quite warm under the plastic they've had in place. The front garden and drive, on the other hand, may never be the same, what with the lorries, skips, etc. in the mud and snow. -- Klara, SE Surrey |
