We woke to the lightest possible scattering on the lawns and some on the
greenhouse roof but only a tiny amount. However, while the sun is shining
in a clear blue sky, it's fair to say that the weather is definitely on the
brisk side! Winter is certainly enjoying its final (I hope) fling. The
birds are very busy collecting nesting materials or squabbling with each
other, so I hope that's a sign they know it's going to warm up a bit.

Wait until October before you say that...

We are waking up to snow here in durham now. There is a light covering on the tips of the trees but luckily it is not lying on the roads. I feel so sorry for these outdoor labourers like landscapers. Its the start of a long winter I feel. Or is it the end of a short summer?
