Has anyone grown lablab successfully? I sowed mine in late February,
and they sat doing nothing until June, and then started growing
vigorously. But no flowers yet, and it's getting late.

We have it but don't grow it ourselves but if it's any help to you we
saw two flowering in Tresco and the one in full sun seemed to be doing
worse.

They grow well in the greenhouse. I've got one this year, a volunteer,
and it's covered with flowers.

It's another bean, Dolichos lablab. Leaves rather like purplish french
bean leaves, flowers like purple runner bean flowers, and big flat pods.
I've not grown it for eating (it is very decorative), but I think it's
one of the beans that you have to make sure you cook before eating.

That's just what happened the only time I ever tried them. The first
beans were forming as the season was over. Not worth it in the open.
In a polytunnel maybe?
