Wisteria (pink ice) pruning advise

When we bought our present house it had a 9 foot tall Wisteria Pink Ice
growing up a west facing wall which didn't appear to have been pruned for
many years (although the house was only built in 1993 so it couldn't have
been prior to then). It produced lots of foliage with only a very few
flowers.
Two years ago, in desperation, we pruned it right back to the main stems.
Since then it has produced only shoots which have a few leaves close to the
main stems but then get very long and spindly. No flowers have been produces
since we originally pruned it.
Again this year, when other Wisterias are flowering, ours is only producing
the spindly shoots and a few leaves.
Can anyone let me know what we have done wrong and how tro correct it ?

Regards
Mike

Remember : 2 and 6

In the 6th month (June or thereabouts) cut all the long spindly things back
to 6 buds from the branch

In the 2nd month (February) cut the same growths plus any new ones back to 2
buds from the branch.

Repeat EVERY year.

Yes, quite right, you need to be brutal with it. No half measures, once you
have the main framework then any side shoots should be cut back to 2 buds
during the dormant period during the winter. I do mine around Christmas as
soon as the leaves have all fallen as mine is enlarging the flower buds by
Feb and I don't want it wasting energy on stuff I'm about to prune away.
Any long shoots during the summer just do as Paul says.
What you are after is a structure that reminds me of a stags antlers, lots
of flower spurs.
Does your plant get full sun? They do need sun to flower well (or at all).
