Spring and summer are said to be the best time, though theroretically
any time is okay if the material is there. However, some people think
autumn cuttings don't work as well because the plants are running out
of vigour. Yesterday, I took delivery of some lovely little regal
pelargoniums from Vernon's. In the package was a little booklet and on
the subject of Fuchsia cuttings they advised using a solution of
Vitamin C rather than hormone rooting powder or liquid!! I'd never
heard of this before and wondered if anyone else had tried it?

When we first moved in to this house I was given a cutting in a mug which I transplanted
into a pot. When this grew too tall I chopped the top off and made about 10 more. By the
time spring arrived I had plants all over the house. About 30 I think and they wer all
flourishing (We did not have central heating or a large fire, just a couple of wall
heaters then.)
