Pergola repairs?

One of the Casualties of the strong winds has been our 30' pergola, this
is the second time the 4" tanalised uprights have snapped in strong wind
and I have concluded its just not strong enough!
I have reluctantly decided to build the pillars up in brick but before
I order bricks wondered if any Urglers have used any other method to
create the uprights?
I didn't know for instance whether there are any square section products
like the things you build chimneys out of but in something a bit more
decorative than rough concrete, looking to end up with something around a
foot square

Just been out and photographed daughter's and got wet :-((

Tried to get as much detail as possible, but if you want any more, sizes

I think thats the sort of thing we will end up with but about half that
length. ie 3 sets of posts not 6
We have decided that I will build in brick around a reinforced concrete
core (which should make sure the brick work goes up straight!) So
tomorrow I shall attack the Roses to give me some chance of working,
shame though as it will take a year or so to recover and wasn't on my job
list so now other planned projects will have to wait.

Many thanks for all the suggestions, I guess I had been hoping for
something easy!!!
