Roosters!

When we took over our new allotment we were given a half bag of white seed
potatoes.

They've been in since the 13th (I think) and aren't showing above ground
yet, although randomly over the rest of the plot there are potatoes showing.

I kept one back (most were just starting to show shoots from the eyes) and
it is very slow to 'chit'.

OTOH I have a couple of bags of Roosters in the cupboard which have chitted
like mad - because we are off the carbs for a bit - and look good to go.

So is there any reason not to put the Roosters into the allotment?

Obviously not seed potatoes but they do seem very eager :-)

Cheers

I would plant them anyway, if they want to grow then let them, in my opinion
there is no difference between seed potatoes and the stuff you buy to eat,
other than the price!
