Herbs near Leeds?

Hi all

Just thought I'd ask if anyone knows somewhere that sells a good selection of culinary herbs to plant (not from seed). The nurseries I've visited have been very disappointing for herbs.

I'm in East Leeds but anywhere within 15miles would be fine. I'm not after anything too obscure; Moroccan Mint, Greek oregano, Basil Mint, broad leaf thyme, Greek sage, Mace and good old Rosemary.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

Considering the cost of fuel nowadays, might be worth
trying online:-

Not wildly obscure agreed, but you need to go to a herb specialist to
find them all in one place. As Bertie Doe says, try on-line, you've a
better chance of getting the herbs that you need. I've heard good
things said about these people and they appear to have everything
apart from 'greek sage' - Salvia fruticosa formerly triphylla. Oh -
mace is the outer husk covering of the nutmeg and is produced by a
tropical tree (Myristica fragrans) that cannot be grown out of doors.

You've tried High Trees I presume? They won't have all but they may have some.

btw - what is mace in this context? - I only know it as the covering to nutmeg.

Couple of seasons back, I bought 24 mixed plugs for
borders, tubs and baskets. In good condition, arrived
quickly and p+p reasonable.. This was thru' ebay and
the vendor had a 100% feedback.
These were flowering annuals and I'm not sure if ebay
sellers do herbs. Worth a try as most sellers are keen
to protect their rating score.

Erm, it would be a good idea if I put up the intended url :-|

The plants are bigger than plugs and therefore more expensive. It
depends upon how impatient you are. Oh and before Jeff picks me up on
it, when commenting about greek or balkan sage (Salvia fruticosa) I
meant to write triloba and not triphylla as being the synonym.
Anyway, you'll have to hunt around for that, but it is variously
available from places that specialise in Salvia sp.
