Astilbes what's happening?

I have two "lots" of Astilbes in my garden, one has losts of flower heads
developing, the other has loads of foliage but no flower heads?

The soil types are very similar, so could it be a watering /feeding thing?

Bill

I have my astilbes growing in a bog garden. They do like moisture.
Perhaps yours that isn't setting flower is a bit dry.

This is quite true!

Although the plant is being watered regularly there is a Leylandii (not a
huge one) that does pinch all the water in the area. This might well be the
problem.

Thanks.

Gardening in West Cornwall overlooking the sea.
Mild, but very exposed to salt gales
