Trial blueberry ice cream
When we had a blueberry thread a few days ago, I said I really enjoyed
them only in the same mouthful as a piece of plain chocolate, and wondered if they'd combine to make a good tart. Well, I haven't tried a tart, but I did make some experimental blueberry and chocolate ice cream just now. I find it rather dull, so perhaps there's an "official" recipe out there; but here's what I did in case anybody would like to try it or improve it. 125g blueberries + 1 soupspoon sugar cooked in microwave oven for a couple of minutes. 50g plain chocolate, chilled and grated. 250ml whipping cream. Whizzed the berries and their liquid in liquidiser. Added cream, whizzed till pretty near rigid. Put into my cheap Kenwood ice-cream maker with the paddle going; then tipped the chocolate in spoonful by spoonful. -- Mike. |
