Default Hardening off

I want to harden off the plants I've grown in the greenhouse prior to
planting out. Will just leaving the greenhouse door open during the day
allow enough 'cold' in to help the plants adjust or do I have to take them
all outside each day.

Thanks

Jim

You need, over a period, to get the greenhouse temperature to equal the
outside temperature at night. Start by leaving the door open during the
day, then leaving it open at night too on warmer nights.

Best to take them out and put them in a shady spot, at first!
Even with the door open a greenhouse can still get very hot!

Of our Broad beans the ones that are doing the best so far are the two
beans we started off in a jam jar with Elinor and then planted out
outside the back door in two pots. Those started off in Roottrainers in
the GH are doing fine, but not quite as well.

Gratuitous Elinor photos :-) :

My Goodness !!!!!!!!
I remember her when she was just a 'bump' :~)

She does indeed seem to be a very big girl now. She is (mostly) good
fun at the moment though.
