Vandalism

: A couple of years ago I snapped a branch on an azalea, it was still attached a bit. So I wrapped masking tape around it and propped it up with a stick to hold it all together. Now it's as good as new. This is a complete tear....One piece is on the floor.... But I have clipped it just below the beginning of the tear... The good news is that its right over a nodule....SO I should get some growth from that to cover it a little Now.....If only I could get the plants that were in that Tom Cruise film... Minority report.... I could cut down garden Vandalism in no time! B-) |

That might be a primary deterrent at least. You have got to be careful with that....If its the one I'm thinking of.... If someone leans on it you can be liable for a cleaning job.... To be honest it wouldn't work anyway....I don't have any fencing.... Just after the previous tennant left the kids ripped the fencing down for bonfire fodder one Nov 5th... All I have is a set of uprights.....B-( And the local council won't fix them and I can't afford to do anythiung about it.... Good point, although I guess you are on a private garden, so fairly easy to get hold of the land owner if someone did get grease on them. We use it on the local allotments (which is owned by the council but 'self' managed) so proving 'who put the paint there' would be a lot more difficult for someone. Are you seriously saying you cannot afford a few thorny rose cuttings or similar? // JW |

130.133.1.4: Victoria Clare wrote in . 240.6: I don't have any man-eating plants, but I do have a pyracantha and a couple of berberis, which are more people-shredders... HAHAHA!!!!! I understand they take OK from cuttings, and I may be able to rootle out some rooted bits (using thick gloves!). Let me know if you want some. Erm.......B-D B-D? Better Doughnuts? Holly seedlings too: I am beset with them! *Ponders* I like Holly anyway..... Would you be willing to post it out if I send you something to cover the postage? (Would I be OK planting it now?) They are pretty tough: I don't rate your chances of killing 'em off! Should be fine if you keep them damp for a bit and I post them in a bit of soil. I did mow/snip off a whole bunch the other week that had come up in the lawn and grass paths though, so let me have a rummage tomorrow and see what is left and how big they are. I'll email you.
