Hi,i have a number of rhododendrones in large pots, just wonderd how to over winter them as they are still quite small. do i need to buy a cover or can i use somthing else?. any advise would be great.thanks.

As they are in pots you need to stop the roots freezing, so wrap sacking or
something around the pots. IME even young plants can usually cope with a few
degrees of frost but it might be wise to move them up next to the house for
a bit of protection as they are young. Don't let them dry out completely
though.

I had no problems wintering young rhodos when I was working. Made a very
crude 'shade house' from roofing lathes and plunged the pots in peat beds.
But note we are in the relatively mild north west of Wales.
Most plants that might be a bit delicate need fairly stable conditions,
rapid cycling of temperatures, moisture, light levels, etc are the big
enemies.
