Very cold.

Had to break the ice on the bird baths.

Very overcast looks as if it could snow any moment.

Slight wind.

That's the S.E. Coast of the Isle of Wight. What have you got?

Although the forecast seemed to show that the midlands would be
clear, woke up to about an inch of snow and temperature currently
-3 C. Bird bath now thawed, and everywhere looking attractive as
the sun rises.

3" of snow over the frozen 2" from Wednesday night here in North
Yorkshire. And we are in a low sheltered part - much worse on the top.

Local roads are passable with difficulty. Beautiful photogenic blue sky
with sunshine and fluffy white clouds at the moment but forecast for
this afternoon is more heavy snow. Off out with camera shortly.

Lots of hungry birds on the feeder - nuthatch, spotted woodpecker and
various tits & finches. Very cold overnight ~-5C still sub zero.

Regards,
Martin Brown

Very cold, unable to get greenhouse door open to see thermometer, frozen
to sill!

Several inches of snow fell from 11.00am yesterday until about 6.00pm or
so. Soft and powdery and easy to clear. Gritted road fairly clear,
although not much traffic (in relative terms, we dont get that much
anyway except when the army is on the move to the ranges).

Clear blue skies with sunshine, white cloud over the Brecon beacons.
Snow is melting slowly from the trees, but not the ground. I think it is
probably still below freezing, as the bird water has already fozen
again!

landed yet here in Oldham.

Decent frost last night when I got up to throw the dead mouse out that our
cat had brought in to show us (why do they do that!) but only -1.5°C this
morning at dawn and soon rising to a heady -1°C. Was sunny earlier but a bit
grey now but still bright, very light breeze.
Birds on the Thames looked very hungry when I threw them the remains of a
loaf.

W Yorks: an inch of snow, bright sunshine, white of the ground and tree branches making lovely contrast with the red berries, golden browns of larch trees, intense blue of the sky. Garden ponds have been frozen for last two days. Lots of birds at the feeders.

But I do wish we had more snow.

Hovering around zero all day in my part of South Wales. A bit of snow
yesterday but it didn't settle. Pond is frozen over. As I write, a
fairly clear sky with just a few wisps of cloud showing bright pink as
the sun sets. Mutant plants still "performing" - I have carnations
coming into flower and one rose bush that's been flowering for the
last few days. One wall planter of fuschias (not hardy ones) is also
flowering but that's next to my boiler flue so is in it's own little
warm micro-climate. Hacked solid ice out of bird bath this morning and
put some warm water in but it had frozen solid again a couple of hours
later. Bird feeders untouched for a few days though my crab apple
trees are becoming very denuded and the heads I left on cardoons are
virtually demolished now.
