Hello,
I have two Jays who use the bird feeders every day They take about fifteen pea nuts at each visit their crops bulge Do they store them as would a squirrel and where I have not noticed this with other birds T. I. A. ...............................Leslie |

I've got a thirty or forty foot oak tree in my garden that i allowed to grow when it sprouted in my garden about 15 years ago. No idea where the acorn had come from as there aren't any nearby oaks. Young oak seedlings can put on about 2 feet of growth a year. I've grown oaks from acorns and been able to climb in them 12 years later. Much taller than Bramley apple tree, though trunk not very thick at moment, just quite big all over and 'airy' not quite climbable but certainly would take A bit of time to saw through trunk if i ever wanted to. It was slow for about 3 years and then suddenly started putting on quite bit of growth. Squirrels sit in it and the tree must support fair amount of wildlife. Had lots of acorns this year, though i will start nibbling at widest branches in a couple of months as they are becoming quite wide.
