Default Toby Buckland on Eggheads

Eggheads are doing a series of Celebrity contests this week.
I see that Toby is on the team tomorrow, Friday.
Hope he does well.

I stuck a comment on Horticultural Week online

http://community.hortweek.com/forums/t/2382.aspx

as they had a big discussion about the bringing back of Monty Don and
the demise of poor old Toby.
Seems some people think it's good to have personalities whilst others
seem to bemoan the lack of GOOD gardening programmes (just like here!)
Janet

Actually the website isn't bad for getting serious or newsworthy facts
about gardening.

LOL! I find it difficult to watch because of the smug, superior
attitude of three of the Eggheads, and only the last round really counts
anyway when they don't have a 3 way choice.

I think Sacha would enjoy it.

I rather like it, although I think I know the three smug ones to whom you
refer! It doesn't stop my enjoyment though, especially if (occasionally) I
know the answer to a question that an Egghead doesn't.
Bill Oddie was on it tonight, was left until the end on his own against the
5 and did quite well.
It's on at 6 pm on BBC2 for anyone who hasn't seen it before.

.....or when one of the eggheads (not being questioned) smiles smugly with
self pride at knowing the answer, only to find that he or she is wrong. The
look of disbelief is worth the license fee.

My daughter's partner records every Eggheads programme, but they only
watch the final round where there are no 1 in 3 guessing opportunities.
The pretentious bit is where they pretend to work out which of the three
answers is correct, and you know jolly well that they know it instantly.

I remember watching one of the "girls" winning the Million in
"Millionaire", and fell in love with her, but I've gone off her since
then. ;-)

A daytime quiz programme with two teams. One with train spotting
tendencies who read pub quiz books for a living and another of wannabe
train spotters.

Take the worst of Gardening World as a reference and then half the
quality. Any "celebrity" that appears on such a show has a declining
career on TV.

Judith? Nothing wrong with her unless you don't like her being *posh*
I like her. Used to posh accents when i showed dogs, all lovely people. I
don't like what I call "reverse snobbery"
