Still having problems with Google accessing group/
I've tried to access through news.eternal-september.org
but I can't access any groups with it, and no reply to my request to
them for help.

Working fine now for me right now. It was off for about a week
recently and before that for a few days. Dunno why.

You need to register to access newsgroups

I did register and followed all the steps as advised but nothing and
no reply from them.

You need to register to access newsgroups

Not for Google groups you don't. You just have to sign on.
Some are moderated, some are not.
The unmoderated ones you have instant access once signed up (takes about two
minutes)

I wonder if it's a problem with your news_reader_ rather than your
news server. Which one are you using?
